Joshua Styles known as J-Styles was born on 7/31/1971. His parents, Jimmy Styles and Freda Prantley-Styles were both musical people. His father, Jimmy played the piano and guitar in a band. His mother, Freda, sang in the church choir. J-Styles learned to play the piano, keyboards, drums, guitar, and bass when he was old enough to talk. He was very shy and would not play in public much to the dismay of his proud parents. J-Styles first publicly demonstrated his talent for music at the age of 14 when his cousin, Davis Prantley, II asked him to play at a talent show for a group that Davis had been writing for. J-Styles played so good that he had a group of girls trying to get to him after the talent show. After the talent show, J-Styles began playing everywhere that he could. J-Styles began writing music in 1991 when his uncle asked him to come and work for his newly formed record label, Prantley Records. Joshua is married to Rhonda Brown Styles. They have twin girls, Jazzy and Rhythm. |
