Markis Peters was born on 6/7/1970 to Mark and Gretchen Peters. Markis met Davis Prantley, II at high school when Davis was teaching a group of guys at their high school some songs. Davis and the guys were outside in the school yard. Markis stopped and listened to the guys. Markis liked what he heard. He had been writing melodies for awhile and wanted to get into the business. He waited until Davis and the guys were finished. Markis went over to Davis and asked what he was doing. Davis graciously answered Markis and then invited Markis to come sit in on the rehearsal that they were going to have later on that week. Markis came into the rehearsal and sat down at a keyboard that Davis has set up. Markis began playing a beautiful melody. Davis and his cousin, Joshua both stopped what they were doing and acted crazy about the melody. From that point on, Markis was a member of the writing team. Markis was asked by Davis Prantley, I to join the writing team of his newly formed record label, Prantley Records in 1991. Markis has a son, DeAngelo and a daughter, Naomi. |
